Farm Description

We purchased our farm in August 2012, a bit run down but loads of potential for improving the place. Lovely river flats - we border on 5km of the Allyn River in the Upper Hunter Valley. We have a irrigation licence also. The flats run into some rising country that then runs up to massive great hill with a lovely big plateau on top with great feed on it also. Great for dry cattle.Currently running 170 mixed breed beef cows, mainly Angus, Hereford and Gelbvieh. With 2 Gelbvieh bulls and a Charolais bull. We own around 20 sheep which we keep for killers. We used to be predominantly merino breeders but that was a long time ago in another state!! We also have 40 lime trees which I am hoping to find a local market for. Also 50 laying hens and wanting to get into the free range egg market. We also have a large vege garden and citrus orchard. Hubby works full time in the mines now, gone from shearing to machinery operator so this place is big enough to give me a full time challenge and him something to do with his spare time. It is a truly amazing place, with the river, the flats, amazing hill top views and the layout of our home.
